This lovely lady in the brown dress is Clarissa. She has very little and still volunteers at the local food bank and made lunch for our crew with just a hot plate and a microwave. She lives across the street from the house we were working on. This is the back of the shirts we wore.

This is the house next door, this is what most of the houses on our street looked like.

Our house looks like it is finished but there is only walls on the inside, no flooring, plumbing or appliances yet.

This is a Snow Goose coming in for a landing, This photo is total untouched. I'm sure some people will think its done in photoshop. But this is how it was taken. I laugh everytime I look at it. It almost looks like a cartoon. More of the Snow Geese.

Here the eagle has killed a Canadian goose and is trying to enjoy his dinner when a young eagle wants to share, but he is not in a sharing mood.

One of the nice things about being at Solomons Island when there is a full moon is you can catch the sunset on one side of the island.............and go to the east side and get the moon rise.

The next evening the almost full moon was over the Smithsonian Castle on the Mall.....

The Capitol building is beautiful anytime with or without the moon.

Chris and Cynthia's wedding day Annapolis MD Cynthia's sister Susanne is Maid of Honor and Ben Holt who has known Chris since he was born is Best Man. The preacher is his brother Timothy.

This past weekend was the Long Island NY Lighthouse Challenge. Ten lighthouses not as many steps as NJ challenge. Three of the lighthouse you can only see from the shore. We drove 890 miles rode 2 ferry's and one 30ft cabin cruiser. We went with people we have been friends with for 24 years and laughed the whole time. These lighthouse challenges are not just about lighthouse.

I spent a week in Mississipi with my son Joe working with a organization called PDA. We were in a small town called Pearlington. The town is along the Pearl river, 45 min north of New Orleans. The town was flatten by Katrina. They still have no Post Office or schools. To learn more about Pearlington than I can put here read this site http://operationeden.blogspot.com . Most of my week was mudding ,sanding and painting drywall.
This is MS Suzie with her lump of sugar (Joe). She survived Katrina by holding on to a post on her front porch. She is 75 years young.

On the first Saturday in December on the battlefield in Sharpsburg,MD 1,400 volunteers place 23,110 luminaries to honor the soldiers who died,wounded or missing in the Battle of Antietam, September 17,1862.
It is a amazing site to see.

We took crazy to whole new level this past weekend. Saturday we went to Lurray Caverns and a sunset drive thur Skyline drive with a 4 and 6 year old. It was great seeing the world thru thier eyes.
Sunday we took a drive and ferry ride on the Eastern Shore and ended up in Ocean City at sunset and to watch the moonrise. The only problem with that is you are leaving OC at 9pm. Makes for a late night.

Can you see the house?

This month was the NJ lighthouse challenge. 700 miles,11lighthouses, over 800 steps total in 2 days. The one in Atlanic City is the 3rd tallest in the country, it has 228 steps. The other tall ones were between 112 to 199 steps. In between the lighthouse challenges we took a trip to Arizona. I hope to get to those pictures soon. I only took 568 on that trip.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph an event at Fed Ex field for Art Monk(if you don't know who that is ask any football fan). The view of the stadium is from the owners box, as you can see he sees the whole field. Behind the owners box is his private dinning room where the event was held. After lunch we went on a tour of the stadium, this is the redskins locker room and a place few women have been, the training room.

Time to get caught up on August. First weekend a family picnic and camping in western MD. Second weekend fly to CT to drive home with hubby. Find a steam train that take you to a paddle boat on the CT river and then a drive down the east coast to home.

Annapolis part 2

The first night we shot the full moon it had been up about 30 min. We went back last night to get it as it was coming up and had that beautiful orange glow.

So we are sitting at dinner and hubby says he will tape one of his favorite shows ( Hell's Kitchen) and go to bed early. Then he starts thinking about how we were talking about going to Annapolis to see where the full moon would be, tells me to look up the time for the moonrise. And now its about 11pm he is in the shower and I am just getting ready for bed, I think it was worth it. Good night moon.

Sunday started out with nothing to do, first church, then lunch with friends,to the Aquatic gardens to shoot waterlillies,Hubby wanted peaches so to Thurmont for white peaches. They had pies in the oven so while waiting for the pies I went out to photograph their gardens. Then hubby wanted Getttysburg PA pictures with the wonderful clouds, and it just seemed right to wait and shoot sundown. And finished off the day eating the pie while sitting in the car(not the whole thing)

I was at a party on the 4th and had been thinking about going to the mall but was intimidated by the traffic and the crowds. My wonderful hubby knew its what I really wanted to do, so at 7:30pm we left Bowie to go down town. I was thinking this is crazy and I want to go home. He somehow found a parking (legal) space a half block from the mall off of Independence Ave around 12th St. We didn't have to fight the crowds on the Mall, we just stayed on Independence. And were home by 10:30pm, it was wonderful. I never would have gone if not for him pushing me, Thanks Honey

This was taken on the first day of summer, I was going to enter it in the Washington Post Sunday source contest but walking back to the car I saw a man selling crabs with some interesting tatoos and stopped and talked to him and liked the pattern of the tatoos against the crabs and enter that shot instead, ( it didn't win)
